Bicyclist struck, killed by truck near Finley

FINLEY — A 54-year-old woman from Portland was killed when she was struck from behind by a truck while riding her bicycle near Finley, authorities said.

The crash occurred at about 6:45 p.m. Friday, 12 miles east of Finley on Highway 200.

The woman was thrown from her bicycle after being struck by the westbound truck and was pronounced dead at the scene, the North Dakota Highway Patrol reported.

The driver and two passengers, ages 9 and 10, were not injured, and the truck sustained minor front-end damage.

Charges against the driver of the 2003 Chevrolet Silverado are pending, authorities said.

The names of the victim and the driver had not been released.
