Minot police ID toddler killed in hit-and-run, release image of pickup

Submitted Photo Minot police are asking for the public’s help in identifying this vehicle they believe was involved in a hit-and-run so they can question the driver.

MINOT – Police here have released the name of a toddler killed in a hit-and-run Sunday and are asking for the public’s help in identifying a pickup truck considered to be a vehicle of interest in the incident.

Police say 23-month-old Zofia Kristal Pepple was struck by a black pickup going east in the 200 block of 11th Ave. SE. The pickup continued to Third Street Southeast and turned south.

The pickup was described as being clean with tinted windows and North Dakota license plates. Police released an image of the vehicle captured on video at a business about four blocks away from the scene of the hit-and-run.

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the vehicle so they can question the driver. Anyone seeing a vehicle matching the description is asked to contact the Minot Police Department at 701-852-0111 or or report information anonymously at 701-852-7463.

Homeowners with video surveillance systems in the area of the incident also were asked to contact police.
