Two Republican candidates emerge to challenge Cramer
BISMARCK — Two Republican candidates have filed paperwork in recent days to challenge U.S. Rep. Kevin Cramer.
DuWayne Hendrickson of Minot filed a statement of candidacy with the Federal Election Commission Tuesday, Feb. 6. Cramer easily defeated him for the Republican endorsement at the 2016 state convention.
Meanwhile, a campaign committee for Tiffany Abentroth filed a statement of organization in late January. A biography emailed by the campaign says she's from Cummings, N.D., is in the Marine Corps reserves and works for a "contracting firm under the Department of Defense as an intelligence analyst."
In a Q&A shared by the campaign, Abentroth called for a "fresh perspective" in Washington.
Cramer, first elected to Congress in 2012, also faces a challenge from Democrat Ben Hanson, a former state lawmaker.
