A 1999 Chevrolet van driven by 48-year-old Cecilio Carrillo-Duran, of Denver, was traveling south on Highway 85 behind a snowplow when she “got lost in the snow fog,” according to a North Dakota Highway Patrol accident report.

Carrillo-Duran drifted across the center line and struck a 1994 Mercury van driven by Ronald Olson, 55, of Bowman, head on. Both vehicles came to rest on the roadway facing north.

Carrillo-Duran and passenger Raul Barron, 41, also of Denver, were not wearing restraints and were injured. They were taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Dickinson for treatment. The extent of their injuries were not known as of press time.

Olson was accompanied by 54-year-old Michelle Olson and 10-year-old Mija Olson, both of Bowman. All three were wearing restraints, but also were injured in the crash. Mija Olson was transported to the hospital in Bowman with unknown injuries, while the elder Olsons were transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Dickinson with unknown injuries.

Carrillo-Duran was charged with care required, driving while license revoked and driving without liability insurance.
