Scranton native reportedly to appear on 'The Voice'

Kat Perkins will reportedly be the second North Dakotan to appear on the NBC TV series “The Voice.”

Perkins, the lead singer of Scarlet Haze and Dirty Word, grew up near Scranton. She is now based in Minneapolis.

Both KX News and KFYR-TV in Bismarck reported the news Friday night.

“The Voice” is a music competition reality show that airs in the spring and fall where contestants have to sing their way onto teams coached by famous musicians.

Hebron native Gwen Sebastian was the first to appear on the show. She was a part of country singer Blake Shelton’s team before being eliminated. She went on to tour with Shelton and has a record deal with Lofton Creek Records.
