DOT to close lanes at Williston intersection

The North Dakota Department of Transportation has announced it will close lanes at an intersection in Williston beginning May 4.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction where U.S. Highways 2 and 85 meet, according to a press release. The closure will allow crew members to perform shoulder work and install turning lanes for the Williston bypass project.

Motorists will be detoured to temporary routes as needed, according to the DOT. Speeds will also be reduced to 25 mph in some areas and a width restriction of 12 feet will be in place. Motorists should plan for delays when traveling through the construction area.

Work on this section is expected to finish in July, but work north of the intersection should continue through October.
