Construction to close streets in Dickinson, cause traffic delays

Drivers in Dickinson will see some delays next week due to construction-related road closures.

Starting Monday, construction-related activities will close the intersection of Fifth Street Southwest and Eighth Avenue Southwest. Traffic should return to normal by the first week of August.

Also starting Monday, installation on a water line on West Broadway will begin. The eastbound lane will be closed from west of the railroad tracks to Fourth Avenue Southwest, and the westbound lane will remain open. The project is expected to wrap up by mid-August.

Construction activities will begin on East Broadway Saturday. The street will be closed from Fourth Avenue Southeast to Ninth Avenue Southeast, with detour signs in place. The project will be completed by mid-August.

Starting Wednesday, southbound traffic along State Avenue South will be reduced from two lanes to one lane from just north of the bridge over Heart River to the intersection of Fifth Street Southwest. Lanes will return by mid-August.

Dickinson officials are urging motorists to be aware of construction workers, equipment, road closures and detour signs.
