Beach man injured after pickup is hit by train
A Beach man was injured while attempting to drive across the train tracks east of the city on Tuesday morning.
While crossing the train tracks 3 miles east of Beach, Ronald Zook failed to yield to an eastbound BNSF train, which struck the right rear corner of the 1991 Dodge pickup he was driving.
Zook, 61, was injured while his passenger, Christopher Hansen of Beach, was not. Both men were transported to St. Joseph's Hospital and Health Center in Dickinson for medical evaluation and treatment of minor injuries.
The train tracks were marked with the required warning and crossbuck signs.
