Colorado man injured north of Beach after failing to stop truck

BEACH -- After being unable to stop his truck, a Colorado man was injured after hitting another vehicle and overturning his own Thursday evening about 10 miles north of Beach.

According to a North Dakota Highway Patrol report, Ricardo Trevizo III, 23, of Colorado Springs, Colo., was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado south on Highway 16 at about 7:33 p.m., and soon found himself unable to stop.

Michael Paul, 56, of Beach was also traveling southbound in his 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 in front of Trevizo, and attempted to turn right. Trevizo’s vehicle’s front passenger corner struck Paul’s vehicle’s rear driver side. Trevizo’s truck rotated clockwise and overturned on the west shoulder of Highway 16. Paul’s truck entered a ditch, coming to a rest in a pasture.

Trevizo was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital by the Beach Ambulance Service for injuries. He was cited for care required. Paul was not injured.

Both vehicles were totalled, and both men were wearing seatbelts.
