Bismarck resident killed after rear-ending payloader on Highway 83

A Bismarck resident was killed after rear-ending a payloader Wednesday afternoon on U.S. Highway 83 south in McLean County.

The unidentified 55-year-old driver was in a Chevrolet Express Van traveling southbound in the right lane about 6 miles south of Max at about 1:20 p.m. when the driver rear-ended a 2006 Sky Track payloader that was also traveling in the right lane at about 20 mph.

The driver died at the scene. Payloader driver Christopher J. Wickman, 48, of Minot, was injured and was transported to Trinity Hospital in Minot by the Garrison/Max Ambulance Service.
