Belfield company seeks training, housing facility: Landowner to make rezone request to Stark County Planning and Zoning Board today

Stark County's Planning and Zoning Board will receive a request today to have 78 acres of land rezoned for use by Missouri Basin Inc. Energy Services in Belfield as a training and housing facility for its employees.

Landowner Brian Dolyniuk of Beach said Missouri Basin Inc. approached him a few months ago about the facility.

"It sounded like it was something that would be beneficial for me and for them," Dolyniuk said Tuesday.

MBI Energy Services in Belfield provides fluid management and environmental services to oil companies.

Dolyniuk said the company plans to use the land to conduct oil field training operations with its employees.

He added that the company also hopes to include the construction of roads on the property that it could use for truck driver training exercises.

"There are some things that will need to fall into place for this to be able to happen and that includes the commission approving this zoning change," he said. "If everything goes well and the zoning change is approved, and some other things fall into place too, I have agreed to sell them the land so they can build the facilities they need."

Chuck Steffan, operations manager at MBI Energy Services, was contacted Wednesday for comment on the company's plans for the land if zoning is approved, but calls were not returned.

The board will consider the zoning change request at a 3 p.m. public hearing in the commissioner's room at the Stark County Courthouse, 51 Third St. E., in Dickinson.
