Workshops scheduled on radioactive oilfield waste

WILLISTON – Educational workshops on radioactive oilfield waste are scheduled next week in three Oil Patch cities.

The North Dakota Solid Waste and Recycling Association and the North Dakota Department of Health are sponsoring the events.

The topics include TENORM (technologically enhanced naturally occurring radioactive material), radiation safety and solid waste disposal and management.

The workshops are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day in the following cities:

Dickinson, Tuesday, May 10, Public Works Building, 3411 Public Works Blvd.

Watford City, Wednesday, May 11, Civic Center, 213 2nd St. N.E.

Williston, Thursday, May 12, Williston Area Recreation Center, 822 18th St. E.
