Roger Klym

Roger Klym, 66, Belfield, died Wednesday, February 7, 2018 surrounded by his family at home.

Roger's Divine Liturgy will be 10 a.m., Monday, February 12, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church with Fr. Yurii Sas as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Josephat's Ukrainian Cemetery, Fairfield. Visitation will be Sunday, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service with a rosary and Panakhyda at 3 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at church on Monday.

Roger Klym was born September 24, 1951 to Metro and Mabel (Evoniuk) Klym in Dickinson. He was raised and educated in the Gorham area and graduated from Belfield High School in 1969. He continued his education at Dickinson State College, graduating in 1973 with a Degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Science.

He taught school for over 30 years and during this time he also farmed and ranched west of Fairfield up until his time of death. He was united in marriage to Stephanie Basaraba on August 3, 1982 at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church and to this union four sons were born.

He was a member of the Billings Co. Farmers Union, Belfield Knights of Columbus, Central Stark and Western Soil Conservation District Board of Directors and the Ukrainian Cultural Institute. Roger enjoyed spending time with his family and attending ag. shows. He was a faithful caretaker of the cemetery. Roger took pride in raising their boys into the men they have become and strived to be an inspiration to the students he taught.

Roger is survived by his wife, Stephanie; sons, Chris (Jess) Klym, Dunn Center, Jonathan Klym, Belfield, Steven (Emily) Klym, Belfield, and Andrew Klym, Belfield; grandchildren, Brayden, Hailey, Carter and Hannah Klym; sisters, Virginia (Ray) Stroh, Dickinson and Julia (Larry) Ewoniuk, Dickinson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, it is preferred that memorials in Roger's name be given to financially assist students pursuing a degree in Agriculture or Science or to St. John Ukrainian Church. Arrangements are with Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, www.ladburyfuneralservice.com
