Lock & Load takes care of Stroh in 5th round of NFR

LAS VEGAS -- Dickinson saddle bronc rider Shaun Stroh's run at a National Finals Rodeo average title and the possibility of a world championship took a major hit Monday night.

Stroh missed on his mark out when Lock & Load reared up in the chute just as it released during Round 5 of the NFR.

It was Stroh's first miss at the finals and makes his bid for a second consecutive average title difficult.

He dropped to 10th in the average. Five bronc riders have yet to be bucked.

Jesse Wright won the round, his first win of the NFR, with an 89.5.

Berthold native Dane Hanna finished fifth in the steer wrestling Monday with a time of 4.3 seconds. He moved up to third in the average (23.8) and is 2.2 seconds off leader Trevor Knowles.
