Frenzel's minor league debut postponed by rain

Dickinson's Cole Frenzel minor league debut was postponed by rain Friday night.

Frenzel flew to New York City today and confirmed via text message that he was set to make his first start the Brooklyn Cyclones during Friday's game against the Vermont Lake Monsters.

Frenzel is now set to make his debut at 5 p.m. MDT Saturday at the Connecticut Tigers in Norwich, Conn.

The Cyclones are the Single-A affiliate of the New York Mets, who announced Thursday that they had signed Frenzel to a minor league deal after drafting him in the seventh round of the MLB first-year player draft in early June.

Frenzel is a 2009 graduate of Dickinson High School and played two years for the University of Arizona. He was a Pac-10 all-conference selection this spring and led the league in on-base percentage.
