Dickinson's Clay Schaeffer sneaks into top 20 in saddle bronc riding standings

A couple of good nights in Fort Worth, Texas, has put Dickinson saddle bronc rider Clay Schaffer in the top 20 in the world for the first time in his career.

Schaeffer, 28, scored an early 79-point ride at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo, which began Jan. 24 and concluded Saturday.

He then picked up an 80 in the finals. Both of rides tied for second their respective round.

Schaeffer earned $4,476 in all after finishing tied for sixth in the average. He is now ranked No. 17 in the world standings.
