Blankenship leads bull riding
ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. -- Since Riley Blankenship's ride on Sunday evening, the Killdeer cowboy's score hasn't been surpassed.
However, the other bull riding competitors are knocking at the door.
Blankenship posted a score of 79, but Dallas Rohring of Rifle, Colo., landed a 78-point on Tuesday morning's performance of the National High School Finals Rodeo.
Richardton's Layton Bohlman and Ryder Bohlman are sitting 15th in the team roping standing with a time of 9.79 seconds. Dickinson's Boyd Stroh is currently 15th in saddle bronc riding with 44 points.
Kit Miller of Amidon, who finished fourth in the goat tying standings for the North Dakota High School Finals Rodeo, is 19th with a time of 8.58 seconds. She is less than half of a second away for the top 10 and less than 1.5 seconds from first place.
Leah Voigt of Beulah placed fourth in her pole bending performance with a time of 20.542 seconds. She is currently 19th in the pole bending standing and less than a second away from first place.
