Dickinson High volleyball swept by Mandan

MANDAN — The Dickinson High volleyball team was swept by Mandan on Tuesday, sending the Midgets to 1-3 overall to begin the year.

The Braves won by set scores of 25-18, 25-14, 25-19.

Mandan made quick work of the Midgets by building sizable leads to begin each game. In the first, the Braves scored eight points before Dickinson got on the board. In the middle set, it was 12-2 in the early going, and it was 6-0 to open the third.

Dickinson junior setter Lauren Jorda tallied nine assists in the match. Senior middle hitter Mariah Mortensen had seven kills and two blocks, and senior outside hitter Morgan Kainz supplied five kills and one block. Further statistics were unavailable.
