Titan’s falter in second half, fall to Killdeer

KILLDEER — Thanks to a defensive performance from junior Shawnee Hansen, the Killdeer girls basketball team put away Dickinson Trinity 55-45 on Tuesday, Jan. 2 in Killdeer.

Hansen led the Cowboys with four steals and two blocks while also contributing eight points and the only recorded assist.

The Titans (5-4, 2-2 Region 7) led 16-15 after the first quarter, and the teams were tied at 28 at the half. The Cowboys (6-2, 1-0 Region 7) outscored the Titans 27-17 in the final half to take the win.

Dickinson Trinity freshman Abbey Kubas and senior Josie Glaser each netted 13 points for the Titans, with each sinking one from behind the three-point line.

Killdeer senior Bridgette Reiss drained a trio of three-pointers and scored 11 points on the night. Seniors Trae Murray and Sydney Anderson scored 15 and 11 points, respectively for the Cowboys.
