White earns 1,000th point in loss to Viterbo
LA CROSSE, Wis. — The Dickinson State men’s basketball team has gone into overtime the past three games, with two going into double overtime. The Blue Hawks played into a second overtime in their game against Viterbo (Wis.), but fell 82-80 on Saturday, Feb. 10 at the R.W. Beggs Senior gymnasium.
The game was tight the whole way, with the teams scoring 31 points each in each half, finishing regulation tied at 62. Each team netted seven in the first overtime, but the V-Hawks outscored the Blue Hawks 13-10 in the second session for the win.
Early in the game, DSU senior guard/forward Marcus White netted his 1,000th career point as a Blue Hawk. He scored 25 on the day, followed by senior guard Jerry Shevlin who contributed 13 points and senior Carter Gallo who added 12. White also led the team with 15 rebounds before fouling out of the contest.
