Valley City won the first game 9-1 and then shut out DSU 5-0 at Astoria Field at Southside Municipal Ballpark.

In the next at bat, designated hitter Cole Honl singled up the middle to score Anderson.

DSU pitcher Chas Allen threw a wild pitch, which advanced Honl to second base and scored two batters later when catcher Dan Buehner singled past shortstop.

Anderson hit two doubles, went 4 for 5 with a run and five RBI and Honl added a run and RBI of his own. Left fielder Robert Wiley went 1 for 3 and drove in two runs of his own.
