Flynn, Townsend lead DSU cross country
ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Dickinson State cross country teams participated in their largest meet of the season when they traveled to St. Paul, Minn., to compete in the Roy Griak Invitational at the Les Bolstad Golf Course. The women’s team placed 31st of 41 teams, with sophomore Lisa Townsend leading the way, finishing in 25 minutes, 32 seconds. Junior Brittney Grove finished second for the Blue Hawks in 25:59 and freshman Bailey Smith crossed the finish at 26:34.
Augustana University (S.D.) placed first in the men’s race with a team score of 43. Simon Fraser University, a British Columbia school, took first on the women’s side with a team score of 73.
The DSU men placed 39th out of 41 teams with freshman Hunter Flynn finishing first amongst Blue Hawk runners. He completed the course in 29:54.
