Homiston leads Midgets at Bismarck Legacy Invite

BISMARCK — For the eighth time in as many events, Dickinson High freshman golfer Lola Homiston shot the team’s lowest score as the Midgets competed at the Bismarck Legacy Invitational on Tuesday, Sept. 11 from the Riverwood Golf Course.

Homiston entered the clubhouse after completing the 18-hole course with a score of 101. Dickinson junior team captain Shelby Steier followed nine strokes behind with a mark of 110 while eighth-grader Hazel Emter finished with a 118.

Bismarck Century eighth-graders Leah Herbel and Hannah Herbel topped the leaderboard as each swung a 75. The twin sisters competed in a two-hole playoff, with Leah emerging with her second medalist award of the season.

Led by the Herbels, the Patriots earned the team victory with an overall score of 321. Williston took second place while Mandan finished third, shooting scores of 341 and 342, respectively.
