Jahner, Midgets win Williston Invite
WILLISTON -- For the third straight tournament, the Dickinson High girls golf team found themselves in the top spot.
The Midgets posted a team score of 347 as senior Rachel Jahner won medalist for the third time this season with an even-par 72 during the Williston Invitational on Friday at The Links of North Dakota.
"The girls are really hitting the ball well," Dickinson head coach Sara Berglund said. "They are scoring well. They had some individual goals to reach this week and overall they are very pleased with their scores. We came together and played really well this week."
Bismarck High placed runner up with a team score of 353, while Bismarck Century ended in third with a 358.
Dickinson also took scores from Riana Cooper with an 83, Rachel Lantz 90 and Sydney Charchenko and Kelsey Yon each supplying a 102. The Midgets are still in search of having its top four scores under 100 and Berglund believes the team is continuing to build confidence in each tournament.
"Even though we haven't had all four scores under 100, I think that everyone is very pleased with how they played today," Berglund said. "We are just hoping to improve so we playing our best by the regional tournament."
The Midgets continue their season traveling to the Mandan Invitational at Prairie West Golf Course at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
