Midgets dismantle, sweep Braves

MANDAN — The Dickinson High volleyball team didn’t have many areas to complain about on Thursday.

For Midgets’ head coach Jay Schobinger, he said it’s was the most complete game the team has played all season.

Dickinson used its complete game to sweep Mandan 25-15, 25-19, 25-19 in a West Region conference game.

“Tonight was probably our best all-around performance of the entire year,” Schobinger said. “It was just good, solid volleyball from start to finish. I thought we picked it up from the service line. We did a nice job on serve reception. Defensively, we picked it up a little bit.”

Keely Hutchens had a game-high 10 kills, while Sydney Gangl added eight. Marissa Schroeder supplied six kills and three blocks. Madison Schobinger dished out 23 assists, picked up 12 digs and served up three aces. Mackee Hoffmann had a game-high 25 digs.

For the Braves, Rachelle Harr posted five kills and four blocks. Miranda added 22 assists and 10 digs.

The Midgets continue their season traveling to Minot High at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The game against the Majettes concludes Dickinson’s West Region road schedule.
