Dickinson pins 4, handles Mandan

MANDAN — The Dickinson High wrestling team collected four pins en route to an opening win of the season.

The Midgets used the four pins to take a 43-20 win over Mandan in a West Region dual on Tuesday.

“It was a great start to our season,” Dickinson head coach Adam Orton said. “The kids are excited to come out and compete. They really did well. They showed some things that we taught them already, but they also showed that they are ready to get better.”

The four players collecting pins were Austin Hatzenbuehler at 120 pounds, Dillon Clark (160), Chris Sickler (220) and Dual Keck (285).

Out of the 20 points the Braves scored, the trio of Ryan Zachmeier, Brandon Zachmeier and Curt Zachmeier scored 14 with the combination of a pin, a decision and a technical fall.

The Midgets continue their season traveling to the Minot for a West Region dual at 5 p.m. Thursday.
