Dickinson only brought seven wrestlers, which were able to score points. The Midgets are in 15th with 64 points.

“We’re real happy with where we are at,” Dickinson co-head coach Pete Dobitz said. “There are 14 weight classes and we only brought seven guys that can score. We’re still in 15th place out of 28 teams.”

Hutzenbiler took a 3-2 decision over Sidney’s Trace Jones in the semifinals. Jones defeated Hutzenbiler in a 6-4 overtime decision on Thursday. The No. 2-ranked wrestler at 113 pounds faces the top-ranked wrestler Nathan Humann of Bismarck Century in the championship.

The Midgets also have Jaret Lee (120), Devin Berger (126), Clayton Tangen (152) and Chris Sickler (heavyweight) alive to score team points.

Berger lost in the semifinals to Rapid City (S.D.) Stevens’ Jordan Moser 6-4 in sudden victory. The lowest Berger, who is the No. 3-ranked wrestler at 132 pounds can finish is sixth and as high as third.

Lee, Tangen and Sickler are all guaranteed to finish in the top 8. The highest all three can finish is third.

Dickinson senior Michael Cherwinski (152) was forced to take a medical forfeit in his second match, because of a thumb injury.

The Bismarck Rotary continues with wrestle backs beginning at 1 p.m. today. Hutzenbiler’s championship match starts at 3 p.m.
