Powered by a Cole Anderson two-run home run and a complete game from Mark Erickson, the Midgets defeated the Magicians 8-2 on Thursday. The Midgets completed the sweep 8-1 after Dylan Wallner threw a complete-game, no-hitter.

With the sweep, Dickinson (21-4) extended its win streak to 11 games.

In the opener, the Midgets piled on six runs in the first three innings. Anderson’s two-run shot came in the first inning. Dickinson scored four runs, which started on a RBI walk from Anderson.

The 6-0 lead was all Erickson needed. The junior right-handed pitcher threw seven innings, allowed two unearned runs on nine hits and struck out six.

Minot’s ace Dimitri Zafra was tagged with the loss after he went two innings and allowed six runs (two earned) on three hits.

During the second game, Wallner pitched a no-hitter over five innings with nine strikeouts.

Dickinson’s Luke Herauf, who went 2 for 3 with four RBI, hit a home run in the first inning. Dylan Skabo was 2 for 3 and three runs, while Lucas Jones added two runs scored and a RBI.
