Midgets throttle Turtle Mountain, 27-1

JAMESTOWN — The No. 2-seeded Dickinson High softball team rolled to an easy win during its first game of the West Region Tournament.

The Midgets used 11- and 14-run innings to handle No. 7 seed Turtle Mountain 27-1 on Friday.

Madison Jahner led Dickinson (25-4), going 2 for 3 with five RBI, including a two-run home run in the fourth inning. She also scored three runs.

Jahner and Haley Butterfield combined to throw five innings, allowing one run on one hit while striking out 13.

Dickinson’s Riana Cooper was 2 for 3 with two RBI and scored three runs. Mackee Hoffmann had a double and three RBI.

The Midgets had 12 batters drive in at least one or more runs.

The Midgets continue in the West Region Tournament against No. 6 seed Jamestown at 9 a.m. today.
