Ringwall claims hardware at West Region meet
JAMESTOWN — Dickinson Trinity senior Ketti Ringwall claimed a West Region title in the 200-yard freestyle, all-conference and outstanding senior of the year as part of the Williston swimming and diving team.
Ringwall finished with the top time in the event at 1 minute, 58.26 seconds during the West Region meet on Saturday.
The Trinity senior also finished runner-up in the 100 freestyle (54.5) and helped the Coyotes’ take third in the 200 freestyle relay (1:45.73) and 400 freestyle relay (3:49.33).
As a team Williston finished fourth with 277 points. Minot won the West Region meet with 460 points, while Bismarck Century was runner-up with 442.
Dickinson High sophomore Leah Grove, who also swims for the Coyotes, helped place third in the 400 freestyle relay and third in the 200 medley relay (2:00). Individually, she took eighth in the 100 freestyle (59.72) and 12th (1:09.2), which are both state qualifying times.
The other Dickinson swimmers, which had state qualifying times were Hannah Rathgeber in ninth at the 100 fly (1:09.63) and Sarah Strube in 11th during the 200 freestyle (2:16.48).
Brianna Ashworth took 11th in the 100 breaststroke (1:18.54) and 14th in the 200 individual medley (2:32.85).
The swimmers continue to the North Dakota state tournament beginning on Friday in Grand Forks.
