Jahner finishes with 71, qualifies for state

SOUTH HEART — The Dickinson Trinity boys golf team had a successful day, but it was even more successful for Willy Jahner.

The Titans won the Region 5 qualifier with a team score of 325, while Jahner took the top spot and was the sole state qualifier after shooting a 71 on Thursday at Pheasant Country Golf Course.

To qualify for state, a golfer must shoot a 78 or lower on the day. Jahner finished 10 strokes ahead of the runner-up, Gunner Hyttien from Southern McLean (81).

For Trinity, David Pokorny (83), Connor Friske (85) and Jaret Lee (86) also finished in the top 10 at sixth, eighth and ninth, respectively.

The Titans will compete in the two-day East-West Classic which begins today at the Jamestown Country Club.
