Trinity rips through competition at Coal Country Invite

HAZEN — The Dickinson Trinity volleyball team got its 2018 campaign underway with a dominating performance at the Coal Country Invitational.

The Titans swept all six of their tournament matchups, taking first place in the gold division on Saturday, August 25 from Hazen High School.

During pool play, Dickinson Trinity defeated Stanley 25-6, 25-13, Kenmare 25-12, 25-19 and Flasher 25-7, 25-13.

In tournament play, the Titans continued their roll with wins over Beulah 25-17, 25-15 and Center-Stanton 25-19, 25-13 before outlastings Minot Our Redeemer’s 25-18, 25-15 in their final match of the day.

Senior outside hitter Bre Tessier led the Dickinson Trinity with 44 kills while senior middle hitter Masy Kuntz followed with 33 kills. Tessier was tied with fellow senior Farrah Zeller with 10 aces. Kuntz also topped the team with nine blocks, followed by sophomores Abbey Kubas and Amaya Willer, who each had seven.

Sophomore Asia Willer led the Titans with 26 digs while senior and 2017 All-State setter Alexa Walby paced the squad with 116 assists.
