University of Minnesota Professor Peter Sorensen discusses the newly operational underwater sound system designed to deter invasive carp on Monday at Lock and Dam No. 8 on the Mississippi River south of La Crosse, Wis., in Genoa, Wis. The first-of-its-kind system cost $75,000 and plays the racket of about 20 outboard motors through five underwater speakers.
