Chuck Schmidt of Keldron, S.D., rides Sweatin' Bullets to an 87 in the Jim and Tom Tescher Championship Round of the Champions Ride Saddle Bronc Match on Saturday afternoon at Home on the Range near Sentinel Butte. Schmidt won both the long and short rounds of the match to win more than $12,000.

Ian Fugere has come a long way since his saddle bronc ride at the North Dakota High School Rodeo Association State Finals on June 22, 2008. Since then, Fugere has become a high school state champion and a College National Finals Qualifier. His next step toward the big time is an invite to today's Champions Ride Saddle Bronc Match at Home on the Range.
