NDSU is launching a new student safety service that incorporates a smartphone application. With Pathlight, a student can say how long they expect to be walking from one place to the next, and if they don’t make it in that time frame, dispatchers will check on them. They can also alert police when they feel unsafe and initiate GPS tracking.
