VALLEY CITY -- Bernatello's will purchase Pizza Corner's familiar orange and blue vacuum-packed frozen pizzas, according to a news release. The acquisition will be effective Friday, May 20.
FARGO -- My parents are old-school romantics. They buy each other cards with swirly script and long, sappy messages. And then there's the red roses and jewelry. But for anyone under the age of 50, Valentine's Day is a little different. Some people will go old-school with their celebration and tokens of love. But I think Valentine's Day has changed. Even 150-year-old Sweethearts conversation hearts have updated packaging, flavors and sayings.
FARGO -- Turn on the griddle and say "cheese." The crunchy, melty grilled cheese sandwich is a toasty winter comfort food. And it can be tailored to taste just like Mom's or a fancier version -- Camembert and brioche, anyone? At Rosey's Bistro, 212 Broadway, Fargo, chef and owner Tim Rosendahl creates both.
FARGO -- Rick Stern doesn't typically drink Budweiser on Wednesday afternoons at Straus Clothing here. But the beer label matches Doug Restemayer's custom Budweiser suit. It's worthy of a mini celebration.
FARGO -- Karl Petry and David Ugelstad were 12 when they first clicked. In half a second, they could access billions of pornography videos on their computers and cellphones. For years, they isolated themselves to watch Internet porn. They weren't alone.
I expected 35, maybe 36, not 44. I was shocked when the VISIA machine, a UV camera of sorts that shows wrinkles, spots, pores and more, analyzed my 29-year-old complexion and aged it at 44. I knew I had sun damage from my teen years roasting in a tanning bed and outside in the sun. But 15 years of extra damage? Kellie Daley, an aesthetic care specialist at Rejuv Skin & Laser Clinic in Fargo, saw my horrified expression and assured me the numbers could be off since I was wearing makeup and we only scanned two areas of my face. But even so, Daley explained that skin can look healthy and
FARGO — After a week of 12-hour work days at TrueNorth Steel in Fargo, Lissa Yellowbird-Chase drives six hours to western North Dakota. She usually doesn’t change out of her dirty work clothes, and her hands are gray and black from welding. The appearance helps her fit in, Yellowbird-Chase said. The 46-year-old Fargo woman and single mom of five makes the 350-plus-mile drive to the Bakken nearly every weekend in the summer and whenever she can in the winter. She walks miles each day, sometimes as much as 25 miles, tapes up posters, interviews people and requests paperwork
FARGO — When Heather Syverson spends a weekend in the woods, she brings a chandelier.
FARGO — Women with short hair are not common targets of sexual assault. Carrying an umbrella can stop a potential perpetrator. These myths and others about sexual assault are found in the viral article, “Through a Rapist’s Eyes.” The 16-point list and similar documents have circulated cyberspace for more than a decade, disseminating statements supposedly gathered through interviews with rapists in prison. Many of the tips in the document are more damaging than helpful, said Sarah Dodd, the assistant director of sexual assault prevention programs at North Dakota State University. “My react
