CARRINGTON — Heart River sophomore Joey Wagner planned out his entire final round for the second day of the North Dakota Class B boys state golf tournament. His game plan: “Stay calm and bring it home.” But when he stepped on the first tee box, he ripped it up. The sophomore finished 1-under par with a two-day score of 143 to win the North Dakota Class B boys state golf individual championship on Wednesday at CrossRoads Golf Course. “I left a couple shots out there that shouldn’t have been left out there, but that’s golf,” Wagner said. “You aren’t going to hit shot perfect.

BISMARCK — The Dickinson High boys golf team fell seven strokes short of qualifying for the state tournament.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa — The Dickinson State softball team’s season officially came to a close Saturday.
MANDAN — The Dickinson High baseball team attempted a seventh-inning rally to extend its season, but Minot hung on for the win.
MINOT — In her last competition of the season, Dickinson High junior Ireland Jung hung on to compete in the consolation round of the singles tournament at the North Dakota Class A state girls tennis tournament.
RAY — The Dickinson High boys golf team supplied a 337 team score and finished five strokes out of the top five during the Williston Invitational.
MANDAN — The top-seeded Mandan baseball team used a two-run sixth inning to defeat Dickinson and advance to the West Region Tournament championship game. The Braves edged the Midgets 3-1 on Friday at Veteran’s Memorial Ballpark. Parker Harm led Mandan with a 2 for 3 effort at the plate with a double and a RBI. He also picked up the win on the mound. Harm went seven innings, allowed one earned run and struck out seven. Dickinson senior Mark Erickson was tagged with the loss.
