HAZEN — In the first game of the Hazen Holiday Tournament, the Dickinson High boys hockey team beat Glenboro-Carberry (Manitoba) 4-1. The Midgets received a pair of goals from Dawson Kram, while Tony Kostelecky and Matt Pavek each chipped in one. Reid Gillis scored the Wildcats’ lone goal in the first period. Dickinson will play Pierre (S.D.) in the second day of the tournament today.
BILLINGS, Mont. — During the first game between the Dickinson State and Rocky Mountain College (Mont.) men’s basketball teams, it was a close battle. The same didn’t happen on Tuesday during the Rocky Mountain Tournament. The Bears sank 17 3-pointers en route to a 100-71 win over the Blue Hawks. Rocky Mountain had six players make at least one 3-pointer and four made three or more. The Bears went 37 of 67 (55 percent) from the field. Malachi Roberts led the Bears (11-3) with 20 points with a game-high six 3-pointers. Tyree Anderson added 23 points, six rebounds and three assists.

The two newcomers to the North Dakota Class B boys basketball poll are Beulah and Hettinger-Scranton — a pair of Region 7 teams.
