Things are not right at Dickinson State University. There’s no nice way to put it. The university, along with the entire North Dakota University System, faces another dark chapter, possibly just as bad as the one DSU endured almost three years ago. This week, North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem said he recently became aware of numerous financial and ethical problems with DSU Foundation. This included the organization using scholarship funds to cover its operating costs.

BELFIELD — Interstate 94 and Highway 10 shut down for several hours between South Heart and Belfield because of a semi truck rollover on Friday afternoon, causing headaches for commuters. Roads were closed to allow crews to clean spilled jet fuel and pesticide from the area. The 1999 Kenworth truck, hauling a flatbed trailer, rolled off Highway 10 while the driver attempted to negotiate a turn about four miles west of South Heart. The truck rolled over into a ditch on the right side of the road. It came to rest on its top. North Dakota Highway Patrol officers detoured motorists to U.S.
The Christian Laettner Basketball Academy camp is open to the first 200 basketball players for each session. The camp is four two-hour sessions for boys and girls in fourth grade through 12th grade. The fourth- through eighth-graders will have their sessions on June 28, while the freshmen to seniors have theirs on June 29. The fee for the camp is $45. The Southwest Dickinson Regional DUI Task Force arrested 19 people for driving under the influence in March, a high-visibility enforcement month. Four felony violations and eight drug-related arrests were also made during the month. Nine are law enforcement agencies participated in the program, according to a release, including the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Dickinson State golf head coach Thadd O’Donnell announced the signing of South Heart High school senior Zach Miller for the 2014-15 season. “We are very pleased to have Zach in our program,” O’Donnell said. “He is a great local athlete who can play well. We look to have him contribute right away.” Miller has had a successful career at Heart River, qualifying for the state tournament all three years and is a three-time All-Region selection. Miller finished the past three seasons with averages of 72, 75 and 74, respectively.
DILLON, Mont. — It was the Dickinson State women’s basketball team’s best performance in weeks.
GILLETTE, Wyo. — It was another strong weekend for the Dickinson State track and field teams, as the Blue Hawks picked up four more national qualifiers at the Eagles and Jackets Invite Saturday hosted by Chadron State (Neb.).
GREAT FALLS, Mont. — The University of Great Falls beat the Dickinson State women’s basketball team 90-67 in a Frontier Conference matchup Friday night.
