DES MOINES, IOWA — It was a rough weekend for Dickinson State athletics. Both the men’s and women’s basketball teams were swept on the road and the wrestling team failed to qualify at the NWCA National Duals Saturday in Des Moines, Iowa.
BUTTE, Mont., — A lack of consistency and a defensive effort cost the Dickinson State men’s basketball team split on the road.
MILES CITY, Mont. — After a long day of wrestling in the Custer County Tournament, Dickinson High has four who are moving on.
FORT YATES — It’s been a week since the Dickinson Trinity girls basketball team took the court, but the team’s game had no rust on it. The Titans defeated Standing Rock 85-35 Friday night and shined in all aspects of the game. Kennedy Keator, Rachel Jahner, Alanna Sickler and Katelyn Grinsteinner combined for 57 points. Jahner hit a game-high four 3-pointers.
JAMESTOWN — The start for the Dickinson High gymnastics team was far from perfect — especially after not competing since Dec. 13. The tough start was apparent from three-time defending state all-around champion Acacia Fossum. The sophomore didn’t stick her landing on her first two events. Nonetheless, Fossum regrouped and placed first — on the balance beam — and runner-up in the next two events to win the all-around on Friday at the Jamestown Invitational. “It kind of felt like the first meet of the season with particularly the way we started,” Dickinson head coach Kent Van Ells said.
