FARGO -- A Bottineau man has pleaded not guilty to felony assault charges in which he's accused of pepper-spraying a Fargo police officer near a south side bar here Sunday night. Travis Lee Brudwick, also known as Travis Lee Wilkie, 25, was charged Monday in Cass County District Court with one count of simple assault and one count of preventing arrest, both Class C felonies, plus one count of giving false information to law enforcement, a Class A misdemeanor.
North Dakota’s Josh Duhamel is calling the state one of the nation’s best-kept secrets. The Minot native appeared on NBC’s “Today Show” Thursday morning to promote North Dakota Tourism’s new 2016 campaign that features Duhamel. BISMARCK -- The North Dakota Supreme Court has suspended a Fargo attorney for six months and a day after it found he failed to act with reasonable diligence and promptness in dealing with some clients and failed to refund some of the money they paid him. In its August decision, the high court accepted the recommendation of the state's disciplinary board concerning Fargo attorney Jesse Matson, based in part on his conduct in three separate cases.
BISMARCK -- The Humane Society of the United States has released its 2015 rankings of states according to their animal protection laws, and North Dakota is once again near the bottom. North Dakota ranked 48th on the animal welfare organization's list released Monday that is based on 83 categories that include animal cruelty, exotic pets, puppy mills, companion animals, animals in research, fur and trapping, and equine protection.
