FARGO — An arrest warrant has been issued for a Fargo man prosecutors say was pulled over Thursday in a car filled with ammunition, guns, badges and other equipment he stole the night before by breaking into a North Dakota Highway Patrol squad vehicle parked at patrol headquarters in Fargo. WEST FARGO -- Kat Perkins, a North Dakota-born singer and semifinalist on "The Voice," calls music "her addiction." All they asked her was to spell her name aloud, and Paulette Cotney burst into tears. Unexpected as it was, the feeling might have been shared by many in that courtroom, where so many of the same people had sat nine years before. Cotney and 11 other men and women had sweated through the six-week trial that summer of 2006, agonizing over the dark and ugly details of Dru Sjodin's bloody kidnapping, rape and murder, agonizing still more over their verdict.

FARGO — Cass County court officials have launched a pilot program designed to improve the legal process for defendants who haven't yet gone to trial. FARGO - One man was overcharging for drugs. The other was just fetching a stranger a glass of water. That's what led Ashley Kenneth Hunter to kill two men in less than 12 hours Monday and Tuesday, according to complaints filed Wednesday in Cass County District charging him with murdering 24-year-old Sam Traut and 45-year-old Clarence Flowers. In his post-arrest police interview outlined in court documents, Hunter told police he'd first stabbed 45-year-old Clarence Flowers to death at Flowers' apartment at 319 12th Ave. N.
