MINOT, N.D. -- A 29-year-old Flint, Mich., man is accused of assaulting another inmate at the Ward County Jail on New Year's Day. According to a probable cause affidavit, Adrian Durrell Gordon got into a fight with Aaron Williams and Gordon stabbed Williams in the mouth with a pencil. Gordon is charged with aggravated assault, a Class C felony.
FARGO — The takeoff of a United Express commuter jet flight to Denver from Fargo was safely aborted Monday, Jan. 9, after the plane blew two tires, a Hector International Airport spokesman said. About 6:30 a.m., United Express Flight 4629, a 50-passenger Embraer 145, was rolling down the runway for takeoff when two right rear tires blew on the landing gear, said Airport Authority Executive Director Shawn Dobberstein.
BISMARCK -- More federal charges have been filed against a pipeline protester accused of shooting toward law enforcement officers in October. Red Fawn Fallis, 37, of Colorado, allegedly fired a gun while being arrested during a police raid of the northern "front line" Dakota Access Pipeline camp on Oct. 27.

FARGO – An 18-year-old Fargo man pleaded guilty Monday, Jan. 9, to gross sexual imposition and terrorizing in a case that involved the sexual assault of a young woman in the parking lot of the Fargo Holiday Inn in August 2013. Abdirahman P. Sahel approached two young female hotel guests who were smoking in the hotel parking lot and threatened them with a handgun before forcing one of the girls to perform a sexual act, according to information shared Monday in Cass County District Court. Sahel will be sentenced after a presentence investigation is completed

MAYVILLE, N.D. — One man was found dead in a house fire Saturday, Jan. 7, on the east side of Mayville, the Traill County Sheriff’s Department reported. About 6:26 a.m., the sheriff’s department received a 911 call reporting a house fire on 7th Avenue Northeast, near the hospital, the report said.

FARGO—A Grand Forks man pleaded guilty Thursday, Jan. 5, in Cass County District Court to one count of promoting obscenity to minors for using a phone app called Snapchat to send images of his penis to the phones of other Snapchat users, including several juveniles. James Ryan Burden will be sentenced after a presentence investigation is completed. Prosecutor Ryan Younggren told Judge Frank Racek at Thursday's plea hearing that he will likely recommend six months in jail for Burden.
