Since I was old enough to understand the comic strips, newspapers have been a part of my life. Times and conditions have changed and newspapers have evolved from the premiere source of useful information to just another player on an 11-member football team. The goal is to remain a first-team starter. Many rural areas have suffered the loss of their small daily or weekly newspaper because of basically two things – increased costs and the reduction in the number of rural subscribers. One can say that they went the way of the buggy whip.
