Earlene Thompson, who died at age 93 in November, 2008, and resided in Dickinson for many years, will be interred in the Dickinson Cemetery at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 1, with Pastor Scott McKirdy officiating. There will be a reception for family and friends at the United Methodist Church in Dickinson following the internment. She was married to John C. Thompson in 1937 and they moved to Dickinson in 1943 where he was a mathematics teacher at Dickinson State University until his death in 1975. Earlene was a member of the United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, Chapter B PEO and St.
Margaret Braun, 93, New England, died Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, at Good Samaritan Home, Mott. Margaret's Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 19, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, New England, with Fr. Patrick Moore, OSB as the celebrant, Fr. Charles Zins con-celebrating and assisted by Deacon Victor Dvorak. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, New England. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday and from 8 a.m.to 11 a.m., Wednesday at Ladbury Funeral Service and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Nona Runestrand, 93, of Fargo, died Friday, Aug. 14, at Innovis Hospital, Fargo. Nona was born Aug. 18, 1915 to Chris and Ida (Brown) Rasmussen in Medora. She was born on the homestead that is now part of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. She graduated from De Mores High School in Medora. She attended Dickinson State and graduated from Moorhead State College. She taught at De Mores School in Medora. She married Walter Runestrand on July 17, 1931 in Beach. They lived in Medora while Walter was in the Army.
Funeral Mass for Marie Geck, 89, of Elgin, will be 10 a.m. (CST), Tuesday, Aug. 18 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glen Ullin, with Father Arul Joseph celebrating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. (CST) in the North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. (CST) on Monday, Aug. 17 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a rosary and vigil service at 7 p.m. (CST). Gertrude "Gertie" Evoniuk, 69, Belfield, died Saturday, Aug. 15 at St. Joseph's Hospital and Health Center, Dickinson following a short illness. She was surrounded by her daughter and granddaughters. Gertie's Parastas will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 18 at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Belfield with Father Taras Miles as celebrant and assisted by Deacon Leonard Kordonowy. Interment will follow at St. John's Ukrainian Cemetery, Belfield. Visitation will be on Monday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson.
Mass of Christian burial for Steve Splichal, 86 of Bismarck, formerly of Dickinson, and Albany, Ore. will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Jim Braaten presiding.
