The Southwest Judicial District Bar Association has elected Christina M. Wenko as its new president. Wenko was elected during a March 10 meeting, along with new secretary-treasurer Jennifer Gooss, according to a news release. Both will serve two-year terms. Wenko was also voted to represent the association on the Board of Governors for the State Bar Association of North Dakota.
Construction work began Tuesday on Interstate 94 between Belfield and South Heart. During construction, a detour will be in place at South Heart Exit 51 and traffic will be reduced to one lane with speeds reduced and flaggers present. Work will consist of bridge replacements, concrete pavement repair work, overlay and widening of ramps.
SENTINEL BUTTE -- A female died a mile southeast of Sentinel Butte on Monday night after she rolled her car off 35th Street South, a rural road, and was ejected. Karla Bohn, 55, was alone in a 2001 Honda Accord when she failed to maintain control of the vehicle and it rolled off the road, according to a report by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

GRAND FORKS -- The Dickinson boys hockey team’s first trip to the North Dakota state tournament in 16 years ended Friday afternoon with a one-goal loss in the consolation semifinals. Kaymen Kitchen scored two second-period goals in 9 seconds to rally the Midgets from a three-goal deficit, but Minot’s Easton Bennett fired back late in the third period to help the Magicians hold on for a 5-4 victory at Purpur Arena.
