BISMARCK — An estimated 25,200 gallons of crude oil spilled Monday, Feb. 15, at a saltwater disposal well in Williams County, N.D., according to a news release from the state Department of Environmental Quality.
Williston-based WISCO Inc. reported the spill about 16 miles west of Williston occurred due to an equipment failure. By the time the spill was reported, all of the oil had been recovered on-site. The department reports no impact to nearby farmland.
Department officials will continue inspecting the site and monitoring remediation efforts, according to the release.
