BISMARCK – Water used for hydraulic fracturing and oil overflowed a tank in northwest North Dakota.
Oasis Petroleum reported to the North Dakota Oil and Gas Division that three barrels of oil and 500 barrels of frac water was released and contained at a well site 11 miles northeast of White Earth in Mountrail County. All but one barrel of oil and 20 barrels of water have yet to be recovered at the Manhattan Federal 5792 11-2H oil well.
A state inspector is traveling to the site and will monitor the continued clean-up.
