JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) -- A friend of six Missouri men killed Wednesday in a crash on North Dakota's Interstate 94 near Jamestown says the group was looking for work in the area.

Yolanda Lorge, president of a Hispanic advocacy organization in Springfield, Mo., tells the News-Leader newspaper that the driver in the wreck was 47-year-old Martin Zuniga, who owned a small construction company.

Also killed were 54-year-old Jose Isabel Avila, 51-year-old Mayolo Lopez, 43-year-old Alibo Galicia Martinex, 50-year-old Epitacio Acosta Padron and 34-year-old Herson Orellana.

The men died when their pickup crossed the median of the icy interstate and was struck by an eastbound semitrailer.

Lorge says Zuniga was a hard worker who arrived in America 25 years ago with nothing. The men's families are trying to get their loved ones back to Missouri.
