WATFORD CITY - ONEOK Partners announced Tuesday that its natural gas processing facility in eastern McKenzie County is operational.
The Garden Creek II plant can process 100 million cubic feet per day of natural gas, a news release from the company said.
The processing plant is expected to help reduce the flaring of natural gas in the Bakken. Natural gas is a byproduct of oil production, but unless there are pipelines to gather it and plants to process, it may go to waste by being burned off at the wellsite.
